Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November 1966. She is a model as well as an Irish actress. Following her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Other roles include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modelling after being invited by an experienced photographer. The result was an enviable modeling career in the commercial world. Doody avoided nude and glamour work. This was a principle that she incorporated into her acting. She accepted a small role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the director of casting. Doody was selected as one of the 12 most promising actors of the year in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the role Doody was, and still is - the youngest Bond girl that has ever appeared. Another film from her early days had her in a minor role in a small role as IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as he portrayed his fantasy in 1987's television adaptation The Secret Garden. Doody played Sapsorrow in an episode of Jim Henson's fable show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the movie Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist, Nazi-sympathizer, and antagonist to Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film alongside Sean Connery, who played the character's father. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Then, she moved to Hollywood. It was her choice to succeed Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokesperson and then continued to play opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his wife and agent as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody came back to acting in 2003 with a minor part on The Actors, a British comedy film The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards ceremony. In 2004, she starred in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. In November she was awarded the Almeria Tierra de Cinema Award and was awarded a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
