Charisma Carpenter

 Charisma Carpenter, born July 23 1970 was an American actress. Her character was Cordelia Chase, a supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999–2004). She also starred in Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablancas and Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell and Lacy in The Lying Game (2012–2013 strong>).

 



 

  Carpenter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada the daughter of Christine Carpenter, who was a bird sanctuary worker and Don Carpenter, a salesman. Carpenter is of Spanish (from her maternal grandfather), French, and German descent. Carpenter attended the Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas.[6She was part of a music and dance group which was in Las Vegas Valley at nine years.

 



 

  Carpenter Carpenter, who was 15 at the time, moved with her family to Rosarito Beach in Baja California, Mexico [2] and then to San Diego, California. She went to Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter traveled around Europe after graduating. She returned to San Diego and worked in the video store as an aerobics instructor and property management. In 1991, she played cheerleader with the San Diego Chargers. In 1992, she relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles.

 



 

  While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male acquaintances were assaulted by Henry Hubbard Jr., who was a former San Diego police officer and serial rapist, who attempted to subdue them with a gun. During the struggle she and her companions as well as Hubbard were shot, forcing Hubbard to flee the scene but both were able to escape the attack. Hubbard was taken into custody and convicted. He was sentenced to 56 years in prison for a string of sexual assaults. Carpenter used Hubbard's flashlight to the beach that he had left at the scene, and the flashlight became a key piece of evidence used against him.

 



 

  Carpenter was ranked No. Carpenter was ranked as 31 on AskMen’s Top 99 Most Desirable Females 2002[3031. 44 on their list for 2005. Carpenter claimed that she didn't consider herself a sex symbol in spite of this. Carpenter was featured on the cover of the magazine and also in a 10-page naked pictorial in the issue in June of 2004 from Playboy magazine. When approached by People magazine in 2005 whether she would ever pose for Playboy once more, she answered, "I don't know. Playboy was a decision I took for a specific reason. Playboy was not only an investment in my financial future but also a perfect fit for my current life circumstances. I'd just had my baby and had gained over 50 pounds in pregnancy. I wanted to return the person I was before. I wanted to look beautiful and attractive. I was thinking: "What if you went full throttle?"
